Why you need research skills

We live in an age where information is at our finger tips. The way in which we have access to information has changed dramatically since the introduction of the internet. Previously most information was published in print format and had to go through a certain editorial process. Whilst this is still mostly the case for books and peer-reviewed journals, it is not necessarily so for information published on the web. Anyone can publish anything on the web. This means there is a risk that whatever you read may have been written by someone who lacks the necessary level of expertise or is biased. When you are doing research you will need to be able to identify whether information you find is trustworthy. I have created some help-sheets that will hopefully help improve your research skills.  Just click on the links under the drop down menu to learn more.
